Machine Learning with Teachable Machine
April 9 @ 1 pm EST / 10 am PST
Grade level: 5th grade and up
This engaging lesson teaches how AI learns to categorize things (sorting spam vs. nonspam emails) by solving a puzzle. Then they will upload data and train their own machine learning model!
AI Programming, Path Planning I
April 16 @ 1 pm EST / 10 am PST
Grade level: 3rd grade and up
This lesson introduces what’s behind AI robots today, how they plan their path vacuuming floors (iRobot) or they accurately find products on shelves (Amazon warehouse bots). Students will program their virtual robot to chase after cubes!
AI Programming, Maze Solving
April 23 @ 1 pm EST / 10 am PST
Grade level: 3rd grade and up
This fun, visual lesson lets students take a peek inside the technology behind self-driving cars — students will build their own maze and have the robot solve the maze in order to get to the destination, in real time!
AI Programming, Speech Recognition
April 30 @ 1 pm EST / 10 am PST
Grade level: 3rd grade and up
This lesson introduces how AI speech works (e.g. Alexa, Siri) and teaches students to apply speech functions with multiple AI agents. Students will leave having programmed a conversation between themselves and the AI character!
AI Programming, Path Planning II
May 7 @ 1 pm EST / 10 am PST
Grade level: 3rd grade and up
This lesson builds upon Path Planning I and builds computational thinking and logical reasoning skills by solving a fun challenge.
AI Programming, Game Design
May 14 @ 1 pm EST / 10 am PST
Grade level: 3rd grade and up
This lesson introduces the game and scores features in Calypso and challenges students by having them program a game. They will have the opportunity to build their own games using what they learned in class.
